The R.E.D. MISSION
RedMoon Project, Inc was created to RESTORE health in sickle cell patients and families, improving pain management as well as exploring healthy eating. ELEVATING lifestyle is key for many patients enduring a long stay in the hospital such as 2-10 times every few months. A few elevating examples would go along the lines of awareness community events, encouraging education by giving support to finish school while in the hospitals, as well as having peer support being able to reach out to others that are feeling the same illness as other SC patients. Lastly we aim to DEVELOP awareness in our country, for our communities and even the World. Getting a broader message pushed out by utilizing ways to uplift our Sickle Cell warriors one by one.
EDUCATION & AWARENESS
Education of Sickle Cell Disease is more important then you know ! It has so many connections to your organs that they can possibly fail. At a young age feeling pain with SCD, it is hard to understand what is going on. RedMoon Project, Inc. wants to change the era, and make knowledge of Sickle Cell Disease available to the youth and Doctors. Having access to grasping an understanding of something that is potentially life threatening is the difference. From showing expressive ways of taking care of yourself in a new, modern way where people in our society nowadays will listen. We want to break the common, and establish a modern aspect on an effective organization made for our children’s futures and beyond.
COMPREHENSIVE CARE & MORTALITY RATES
Over thousands of children and adults suffering from sickle cell disease struggle with getting the proper care provided. Many general hospitals are beginning to take responsibility for the children with sickle cell. Finding betters way to treatment as well as finding the right doctors to help treat that child. However, going into the adult stages with Sickle Cell chances are slim to receive the same kind of treatment they did as a child. This then leads to increased mortality rates for the adolescents and adults that have sickle cell disease. Knowing he lack of significant recent reduction in SCD mortality in older children indicates the need for new treatment approaches. It is important to be open and explore new avenues to treat Sickle Cell pain a more healthy and in effective way. With RedMoon Project, Inc. we strive to bring resources to the SCD community to help get the care that is needed to live a healthy, painless life.
